Dunsmore Nichols Family Tree

Gussie Hayes, 81, 402 Waid Ave., died at Ball Hospital Saturday morning following a prolonged illness.

She was a native of West Virginia and had lived in Muncie for 37 years.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Gerald Kegerreis, Hartford City, and Mrs. Cecil Waymire, Matthews; five sons, Lee Dunsmore, Redkey, Marshall Dunsmore, Muncie, Harold Dunsmore, Parker, Medford Dunsmore, Detroit, Mich., and Thomas T. Dunsmore, Muncie; 41 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.

Services will be held in the Parsons Mortuary at 3 p.m. on Tuesday with Rev. Clinton Wickham of North Walnut Street Church of the Nazarene presiding. Burial wiil be in the family plot in Elm Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and before services Tuesday.

Gussie Corine (Taylor) Hayes was married to James Walter Dunsmore on October 11, 1905 in Monroe County, West Virginia. They moved from West Virginia to Muncie, Indiana after 1930 and were divorced in July 1939. They had 11 children, of which two died (James Edward at 15 years and Desmon Sherman at 2 1/2 years).
