Lydia Geraldine Peters, age 76, passed away on July 24, 2015. She was born on September 23, 1939 to Earl and Edith Montgomery in Bishop, Texas. She was raised in Bishop, Texas and graduated from Bishop High School in 1957. She married her husband, Jim, of 41 years on July 3, 1973. After many years of living and working in Corpus Christi, Texas, Jim and Lydia retired to New Braunfels, Texas where they resided until 2014. Lydia was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and was known as "Mom Peters" to many. Lydia enjoyed music, songwriting, gardening, and spending time with friends and family. She will always be remembered for her love of laughter, undying love for her family, friends, kids, and dogs. Her love of Christmas was contagious and her love of music enjoyed by all who heard her sing and play the guitar.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Edith Johnson; husband, Jim Peters; brother, Michael Montgomery; and sister, Peggy Usrey. Lydia is survived by her daughters, Shelley (Rick) Vatzlavick of Dallas, Texas, Janna (Brandon) Roper of Denton, Texas; siblings, James Montgomery of Seguin, Texas, Richard Montgomery of Wimberley, Texas, Tanya Ulsh of New Braunfels, Texas; grandchild, Riley Peters Vatzlavick; numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday July 31, 2015 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel with a Funeral Service to be held at 11:00 a.m. the same morning. Interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
